Use Wiretap to Record Xbox Games While Using Your Headset

Posted by Jarrod Whaley on

Our products are versatile—in fact they can be used in so many ways, it's hard for us to list them all in a quick product listing. To that end, we'll be posting a series of short articles like this one, which demonstrate use cases which may not necessarily be apparent at first glance.

Our Wiretap splitter might be the most broadly useful product we make. Not just for recording phone calls, the Wiretap can be used in any situation where it might be useful to split an audio signal and retain the use of the microphone on one of the outputs. Some of our customers have found that Wiretap is great for recording Xbox One gameplay using a game capture device. With Wiretap, you can record your gameplay audio while continuing to use your headset like you normally would. Just plug the Wiretap into your controller, and then connect your headset to the headphones + mic channel on the Wiretap. You'll then have another output with which to send the full game audio into the input on your game capture device!

Have you found an interesting use for one of our devices? Drop us a line and tell us all about it. We'd love to share your use case with our customers.
