Makers4Good is very pleased to announce our newest non-profit partner. Blue Water Baltimore fills a unique role in the Baltimore area as an organization that uses a holistic set of programs to meet the great challenges of improving water quality. From arts and education, to stormwater management projects, to legal and legislative advocacy, they bring together citizens and public and private partners to accomplish more than any could do alone. Many of our nation’s indigenous people live in conditions with little or no access to electricity, making a solar powered source of light and energy both highly sought-after and much appreciated. EIP is a nonpartisan, nonprofit watchdog organization that advocates for effective enforcement of environmental laws. Comprised of former EPA enforcement attorneys, public interest lawyers, analysts, investigators, and community organizers, EIP has three goals: To illustrate through objective facts and figures how the failure to enforce or implement environmental laws increases pollution and harms public health; To hold federal and state agencies, as well as individual corporations, accountable for failing to enforce or comply with environmental laws; and To help local communities obtain the protections of environmental laws. Makers4Good is a proud sponsor of the Sonoma County Regional Parks “Star Gazing & Meteor Shower Social”: a potluck-style event bringing community members together to enjoy the meteor shower and planets with Sonoma County Regional Park Staff. The event was designed to have community members enjoy treats and meet one another while enjoying the splendors of our natural environment. Makers4Good donated a case of HELIO light-weight solar lights, perfect for the kids in attendance to use while night-hiking with the rangers during this educational and fun adventure.
